Healing Through Faith And Community

Montrell Jackson’s Story

Montrell grew up in Pomona, California, in a close-knit family, but found himself burdened by a generational curse that led him to addiction at just 11 years old.

As his substance abuse spiraled out of control, it damaged his career aspirations and strained his relationships, ultimately causing him to lose everything he held dear.

After 15 years of battling addiction, Montrell hit rock bottom and realized he could no longer medicate his pain, prompting him to reach out to his mother for help.

She guided him to The River's Edge Ranch – a safe haven that provided the hope he desperately needed.

Here, Montrell learned the importance of surrendering to God and submitting to the program's leadership, marking the start of his transformative journey.

Since joining the program, Montrell has experienced profound spiritual growth, restoring his faith and reconnecting with his family. Today, he continues his walk with the Lord, guided by the Holy Spirit, and is a testament to the healing power of faith and community.

Montrell holds on to Romans 12:2, which inspires his ongoing transformation, and he gives all honor and glory to God for the incredible work being done through this program.

Renewed Hope And Grace

Gilbert Guerra’s Story

Gilbert Guerra grew up in the late 1970s as the youngest of eight in a family plagued by poverty and heavy drinking. Despite experiencing the loss of several family members to substance abuse, he was drawn into a lifestyle of alcohol and gang activity.

After losing his father at age 18, Gilbert coped through drugs and violence, ultimately landing him in prison for four years.

Even after his release, he continued down a destructive path, marked by trauma and loss.

Reflecting on his past, Gilbert says, “My addiction consumed me, leaving me lost and desperate, searching for happiness but finding only emptiness.”

After losing his wife and children, he found himself homeless and without direction. Until his niece encouraged him to seek help at The River’s Edge Ranch.

Now, at 50, Gilbert is grateful for a fresh start and a new identity as a creation transformed by his faith in Jesus Christ.
